Yes. And there’s a reason.

A Maltese loaf has too much character to be forgotten. We give it a new beginning — bringing rescued bread and ancient Sicilian grains together through traditional pasta making.

A GOOD LOAF NEVER REALLY ENDS.

From yesterday’s bread.
To your next favourite.

Seven little chapters. One delicious transformation.

The whole journey at a glance ↘

01 — Rescue

The Pasteca character carrying an oversized crusty Maltese loaf.

Good bread. A new beginning.

Surplus Maltese bread is collected from local bakeries within 24 hours.

02 — Dry

The character fanning bread slices and pieces on a drying rack.

A little less water. All that character.

The rescued bread is fully dried, ready for its next chapter.

03 — Mill

The character turning a hand mill beside a mound of bread flour.

Back to the very beginning.

The dried bread is milled back into flour. A familiar ingredient, with a different future.

04 — Blend

The character pouring flour into a bowl beside grain and wheat ears.

Two islands. One good idea.

Recovered bread flour meets ancient sicilian grains. Maltese roots, Sicilian craft.

05 — Extrude

The character operating a bronze pasta press as ridged pasta emerges.

Shaped by tradition.

Traditional bronze dies give the pasta its shape and a textured surface for sauce to hold on to.

06 — Slow dry

The character waiting patiently beside ribbons of pasta drying on a rack.

Slowly dried. Worth the wait.

The pasta is dried slowly. Because time is part of the recipe.

07 — Pasteca

The character proudly presenting the finished ridged pasta.

Bread. Reborn as pasta.

Rescued bread, ancient grain and traditional pasta making. Ready for a new place at the table.
